Taylor Matheny: Earning my Pro card at the 2011 Team Universe was quite an accomplishment, I then went on and competed in several pro shows and earned a spot at the 2012 Bikini Olympia in just my first year as a pro…. if I was a prideful person that would be my most proud moment 🙂
What Is It Like Competing?
TIME CONSUMING!!!!! But worth all the hours of training and food preperation. It’s not the easiest sport to be involved in but I believe it’s one of the greatest learning and growing challenges of the competitors lives.
What Workout Routine Has Worked Best For You?
Full body workouts mainly everyday, with variations of cardio (30-60 minutes incline walking) I take Sundays off from the gym at least and I will take my work out outside like a hike or bike ride. There is no weight lifting on sundays

3 sets of 15 – 3 sets consisting of 2 different movements supersetted together.
Monday: Upper Body
Bent Over Row – 3 x 15
Superset With Deadlift – 3 x 15
Around The World – 3 x 15
Superset With Squat Press – 3 x 15
Hindu Push Ups – 3 x 15
Superset With Jump Lunges – 3 x 30 (15 each leg)
Squat Press – 3 x 15
Superset With Kettle Bell Upright Rows – 3 x 15
Walking Lunges – 3 x 15
Superset With Single Leg Step Ups – 3 x 15 each leg
Push Ups – 3 x 15
Superset With Triceps Dips – 3 x 15
Wednesday – Friday: alternate Monday and Tuesdays routines
Saturday: Cardio day
Top 3 favorite Exercises And Why?
Jump Lunges: because I like the explosiveness and getting your heart rate up while you tighten and tone.
Squat Press: this is more of a love hate relationship….haha I hate doing them but I love the results!
Kettle Bell Up Right Rows: sculpts great glutes and great shoulders in one~

CLEAN, strict, yet fun and flavorful!! I am a personal and private chef so the diet part is made a bit easier for me.
I love cooking healthy meals but keeping them tasting great is a must. Most athletes in the fitness industry have and in season and off season diet program, I however have a Lifestyle. Eating healthy is just a part of who I am and what I love to teach.
Any Staple/Classic Healthy Meals That You Always Eat?
Salsa Chicken is most definitely on hand at all times. I just boil chicken breasts, then drain and shred them, and toss with salsa… simple but delicious! Great when you get home starving and need some quick protein. (just can’t have this after I cut sodium for a show)
What Is Your Favorite Cheat Meal?
Honestly I love Fruit! I don’t eat any sugars while training so I miss the simple things like apples and watermelon. but if we are talking sweets… I’m a sucker for Frozen Yogurt!!!!!
