How Did You Get Started In Health And Fitness?
I was always active growing up and actually started going to the gym when I was a freshman in high school. I mostly just took group fitness classes and didn’t take it too seriously.
After my first semester of college, something changed and I wanted to get more serious. I actually challenged myself to start running long distances, and eventually I ran a half marathon. I was under-eating and lost a lot of weight and wasn’t in the healthiest mindset.
I started seeing photos of fitness competitors and models who were strong and healthy and I decided to completely change my ways and start lifting weights. The rest is history! I fell in love with that, and entered my first bikini competition and won first place.
What Is Your Best Advice For Someone Looking To Start Getting Fit?
Do your research! There is a TON of free information online, especially on bodybuilding.com. That is how I got started – I basically taught myself. You don’t always need a coach to get started, but a coach is also a wonderful way to get started to have that guidance and accountability. However, knowledge is power, so the more you know always helps!
How Has Getting Involved In Fitness Helped Change Your Life?
It has completely changed my life in more ways than one. It has changed me both physically and mentally for the better. I am happier and healthier than ever before. It has also led me to my passion, and allowed me to make it my job. The best part of it all – I get to help people doing what I love. It never fails to make me cry when I hear that I have inspired someone or changed their life for the better. That is exactly why I do what I do.
What Is Your Workout Routine?
I am currently in competition prep, but I typically train the same regardless – I just do a bit more cardio currently when trying to lean down. I am on a lower body, upper body, lower body, upper body, lower body split currently.
I do a mixture of all types of training – strength (1-5 reps per set), hypertrophy (6-12 reps per set), and endurance (12+ reps per set) in all of my training sessions.
What Is Your Diet Like?
I follow a flexible dieting approach, so I eat whatever I’m craving that day as long as I hit my macronutrients. My philosophy is that you need to enjoy your diet and you need to eat in a way that you can for the rest of your life. You can reach your goals without being restrictive to only a few different foods. I typically balance my meals with a good portion of protein, carbs, and healthy fats.
I don’t take many supplements because you don’t NEED them, but I do take a multi-vitamin, BCAA’s, creatine, and whey protein.
What Are Your Favourite Healthy Recipes?
I tend to eat pretty basic – especially on prep when my calories get lower, I like to eat with volume which means more food for less calories. I do love protein waffles or pancakes, and the “beltsander brownie” that has been going around instagram which is 1 scoop of protein, ½ tsp. Baking powder, 5-10g cocoa powder, and almond milk. Put that in the microwave for 30 seconds, and BAM protein brownie!
What Advice Do You Have For Someone Looking A Flat, Ripped Stomach?
Look at your diet and eat in a caloric deficit over time. Make sure you are weighing and tracking your food intake! It takes time and patience, but it’s all about your calories.
What Are Your Favourite Exercises/Tips For Developing That ‘Booty’?
I actually have an entire YouTube video on that exact topic with my favorite exercises! You can see that here or below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMvCqBXZFzE
Basically, it’s important to eat in a caloric SURPLUS to gain muscle, and to focus on training those glutes. My #1 favorite exercise is the hip thrust, but again, I go into detail about all of my favorites in the video 🙂

How Do You Handle Setbacks & Bad Days?
I recognize that we are all human and it happens, and it’s important to learn from the experience and move on. I always try to look at the positives of everything and remind myself that things can be so much worse. There is always something to be thankful for, even in the midst of struggle.
Where Does Your Motivation Come From?
First and foremost, it comes from not being where I want to be just yet. I have a goal, and I will do what it takes to get there. Regardless if that is in regards to fitness, my career, etc.
Second, the fact that I inspire and motivate so many people motivates ME. I have the ability to help others, and I use that wisely.
